One of the best things about Hop City - aside from the obvious - is the gathering of brewers, and the collaborations born out of that proximity - whether they're at Northern Monk or some of our esteemed brewing neighbours; whether that's at the festival, or in anticipation of it. And as it's brewed for a festival, it only felt right that it should be for the Patrons Project of Thought Bubble, a festival in its own right!

For the third Thought Bubble instalment we’ve teamed up with London’s Pressure Drop and Gravity Well.

Starting with a classic NE grist of Oats & Wheat, we veered off the beaten track slightly with the addition of Cara Gold malt, to add a dollop of caramel sweetness and the hue of a shimmering sunset.

Idaho 7 and Citra form the backbone of the hop profile, along with some NZ favourites Nelson, and lesser-known Rakau and Nectaron. These all combine for a DDH IPA with a melange of vivacious nectarine oil and sweet, sticky apricot juice, plus top-notes of fragrant elderflower, cucamelon, and mojito

SERIES 33 // THOUGHT BUBBLE FESTIVAL

Thought Bubble is the UK’s Biggest Comic Art Festival. A week-long celebration of comics taking place across Yorkshire, ending with a giant comic convention at Harrogate Convention Centre in November. Based in Leeds, Thought Bubble works year round to promote the medium of comics and create opportunities and support for the comics community. Throughout the series, we’ll be featuring artwork from different classic comics, to showcase the diversity and variety of U.K. comic art and celebrate what is the U.K.’s biggest Comic Art Festival right here in Yorkshire.
