Refund policy

RETURNS

Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately, we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. We also require a receipt or proof of purchase.

If goods are to be returned to Northern Monk, they must be returned in their original packaging. You will be refunded for the goods once received back into our warehouse, minus applicable shipping costs, unless the return concerns faulty or damaged goods. Contact us at info@northernmonk.com if you would like to return your goods back to us and we will help you to do this. Return shipping will be paid by the customer except in cases where goods are faulty, in which case they will be reimbursed to the customer.

If there is a problem with your order or items are faulty, please contact the help desk at info@northernmonk.com or call 0113 243 6430

If an attempted delivery is obviously damaged, you are within your rights to refuse the order, at which point it will be returned to us. If you choose to do this, please contact our helpdesk at info@northernmonk.com and we will issue either a resend of the order if every item is in stock, or a full refund, whichever is preferable.

Refunds will not be issued in the instance of an order being placed outside the conditions of the delivery parameters stated on the checkout page.

We cannot accept responsibility for delivery failure if you provide an incorrect address and postal code or incorrect contact telephone number. Please check this information when placing your order.

INTERNATIONAL VAT & CUSTOMS/IMPORT CHARGES FOR ONLINE ORDERS

As these orders are paid for in the UK, VAT is payable on all our online webshop orders regardless of the final destination country. We keep all international surcharges to a minimum where possible, but this charge is not something we can waiver.

Orders (including gifts) may be subject to unexpected local taxes / customs charges. Customers are responsible for these costs and should ensure they are happy to pay them before ordering. If you later decide to reject the goods, when a customs charge is applicable, we reserve the right to deduct shipping and any other costs incurred before processing any refund.

These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

REFUNDS

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

LATE OR MISSING REFUNDS

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next, contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at info@northernmonk.com.

EVENT POLICIES

Festivals, Tickets, Times, Refunds and Cancellation Only customers holding a valid Ticket will be admitted to the Event. There are a limited number of Tickets (and different types of Tickets) available for each Event, and therefore the purchase of Tickets is strictly subject to availability. You must retain this Ticket on Your person at all times during the Event. Upon purchase, please check Tickets carefully as mistakes cannot always be rectified after purchase. Tickets are not issued on a sale or return basis and refunds will not be made on returned Tickets unless provided for under these Terms and Conditions. The Promoter will not be responsible for any Ticket that is lost, stolen or destroyed. You are solely responsible for the safe-keeping of Your Ticket. It is not always possible to issue duplicate Tickets. If duplicates are issued, a reasonable administration fee may be charged. Price and availability information is subject to change without notice. Tickets are barcoded and each barcode is unique and only allows entry to the Event as per the session(s) purchased. Each ticket will be coded to ensure the relevant number of permitted entries only. Ownership or possession of a Ticket does not confer any rights (by implication or otherwise) on You to use, alter, copy, or otherwise deal with any of the symbols, trademarks, logos and/or intellectual property appearing on the Ticket. Tickets are personal revocable licences and shall at all times remain the property of the Promoter and subject to these Terms and Conditions. You may not re-sell or transfer a Ticket for commercial gain. If a Ticket is re-sold, transferred or advertised for profit or commercial gain or used for competitions, promotions or hospitality packages by anyone other than the Promoter, or an authorised sub-agent, it will be void and You will be refused entry to, or ejected from, the Venue without refund. Tickets are sold subject to the Promoter’s right to alter or vary the published Event programme which may result in changes to the brewery, food traders, or performance line-up, playing times or any other aspect of the Event. The Promoter reserves all rights in this regard. Any published start and finish times of a performance at the Event are estimates only and are subject to change. The Promoter shall not be liable for any change of a published start or finish time. All advertised times are subject to change. We will not be responsible to make any refund or meet the costs of any alternative travel arrangements or for any loss of enjoyment or other indirect loss as a result of an Event not running to the precise advertised times. Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded unless the Event is cancelled, rescheduled or there has been a material change of the Event. A ‘material’ change is a change which, in our reasonable opinion, makes the Event materially different to the Event that purchasers of the Ticket, taken generally, could reasonably expect. A material alteration is judged, in our absolute discretion, by reference to the nature and billing of each Event. The Event is judged, in our absolute discretion, by reference to the overall theme rather than the individual brewery, food trader, or act scheduled to appear. Refunds should be obtained from the point of purchase, no later than 3 months after the Event. Liability for the cancellation or rescheduling of an Event, or for material changes to an Event, will be limited to a refund as set out in these terms and conditions. The total refund for a Ticket shall be the face value of the Ticket purchased. Personal arrangements including travel, subsistence and accommodation in relation to the Event which have been arranged by You are made at Your own risk and neither the authorised ticket agent nor the Promoter will have any liability for any such loss of enjoyment or wasted expenditure in addition to refunding the face value of the Ticket. No refunds or compensation will be considered for any reason other than as set out in clause 11. Refunds will only be made to the person who purchased the Tickets. It is Your responsibility to check that the Event has not been cancelled, rescheduled or made the subject of a Material alteration. Information on such matters will be made available on behalf of the Promoter as soon as reasonably practicable on the Promoter’s and/or Venue’s website and/or at the Venue. Customers are advised that the website cannot always be updated immediately and that circumstances giving rise to cancellation, postponement or Material alterations can sometimes arise immediately prior to an Event. Tickets will not be refunded where they have been used to gain entry to the Event, or where You are able to and choose to attend a postponed Event. Tickets are not transferrable and cannot be exchanged. This does not affect your statutory rights.

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION POLICY

We believe that growing in stature facilitates our mission to create the best beer experiences in the world. Two measures of our stature are the diversity of our workforce and how included all people feel. We have committed to set new diversity goals each year on gender, ability, race, religion, sexuality, identity and experience.

We hire the best and strive to reflect the diversity of the North in our team at Northern Monk. Everyone is welcome as we build on our heritage for a collaborative future. Beer is boundary-less and we have set our sights on a community that is too.

SCOPE

This policy applies to all individuals employed at Northern Monk and is in line with the legal framework for diversity and inclusion. All employees are responsible for upholding this policy and procedure. HR is responsible for the implementation of this policy and the wider diversity and inclusion strategy. Any questions regarding this policy are to be passed to the HR Co-Ordinator.

OUR COMMITMENT

We believe that diversity is recognising difference and valuing the uniqueness of each individual. All individuals in the Northern Monk community should be treated with respect.

We believe that to be diverse we should represent the community in the North that we are a part of.

We believe that our workforce should be equipped to support our diversity goals, in order to ensure that this is the case we will provide annual diversity and inclusion training.

We believe that inclusion is making a space for diversity in the workplace, ensuring all employees feel valued and heard.

We believe all members of staff should be held to account on these values. Any actions which oppose these values will be addressed quickly and in line with the disciplinary procedure.

We commit to holding a quarterly Diversity & Inclusion Forum, to elevate the voices of the underrepresented groups at Northern Monk and to work towards greater inclusion and diversity. This forum is also a place to promote and ensure that the decisions made relating to this policy are in line with its goals and are transparent in nature.
